What you will be prepared to do

These outcomes come directly from the reviewed course modules. They describe what the instruction teaches, not a promise that course completion alone qualifies someone for a position or license.

  • Explain how HB 4696 changed HCSSA ANE reporting through Tex. Hum. Res. Code 48.051(b-1), 48.251, and 48.252(b) and Tex. Health & Safety Code 142.018(b), and how to read those changes with the unamended text of 26 TAC 558.249 and 558.250.
  • Conduct the annual internal review required by 26 TAC 558.256(j) as an evidence-based audit, using record samples and tests for each requirement of 558.256.
  • Explain what the "adopt and enforce" duty in Chapter 558 requires and how surveyors compare written policy with actual practice.
  • Map the administrator's duties in 26 TAC 558.243(b)(1) to the five management functions of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling, and relate them to the qualifications in 558.244.
  • Apply the six core principles of health care ethics and a six step decision method to situations in home health, hospice, and personal assistance services.
  • Compare the QAPI requirements of 26 TAC 558.287, 42 CFR 484.65, and 42 CFR 418.58 and build one program that meets every rule that applies to the agency's license categories.
